CGM INFRA now offers the "FLOOR CARE".

our services

Concrete Polish :

CGM INFRA now offers the "FLOOR CARE" Customized Concrete Polishing System, best suited for Industrial Floor, Retail outlets and warehousing facilities with outstanding warranty. Unique Polished Concrete System eliminates the need of continuously replacing the floor covering thus making it value for money proposition. The polished Concrete Flooring is also becoming the preferred choice of the one looking for ultimate NO WAX / EPOXY flooring options. Concrete floors may wear out due to multiple reasons like water logging damages, surface pressure, de-lamination, improper curing, etc., but regardless of the age, the concrete slab can be polished using the process.

Product Feature:

Moreover, no special acid agents are required in order to prepare the surface and the initial preparation consists of 5 to 7 steps of surface grinding. This is done in order to achieve a dense level as top surface of concrete is often found to be dusty, soft and porous. Polishing with resin diamond pads up to 3000 grit level subsequently follows this procedure. Additionally, based on specific requirements, Lithium silicate based Nano liquid floor hardeners and penetrating surface densifiers are also used for arriving at the right sheen and highly increased surface abrasion resistance. As per the International studies the top surface abrasion resistance is increased by at least 5 times.

Facts and Feartures :

  • A) In an unpolished concrete, tiny particles of dust are pushed to the surface through an upward force. This can be termed as concrete dusting. Dusting may force epoxies and other commonly used floor toppings and sealers off of the surface of concrete floors, and can lead to high cost of maintenance for industrial floors.
  • B) The polished concrete treatment acts as shield to prevent water, oil, grease and other de-icing chemicals from penetrating into the surface making it ideal choice for industrial floors and heavy duty floors.
  • C) Almost any concrete slab can be polished, regardless of its age. There are many reasons for concrete industrial floors to wear out due to water logging damages, surfaces pressure, de-lamination, improper curing, curled cold joints, joint shoulder failure as examples. FLOOR CARE polishing involves grinding the top surface of the old / affected concrete floor, including any unlevelled areas with divots or holes which further densifies the exposed surface beneath. Aged concrete is strengthened with this process.
  • D) Polished concrete system increases the surface reflectivity thus helping in saving the energy bills by at least 30%.
  • E) Polished Concrete floors are slip resistance. If regularly mopped and cleaned, polished concrete floors will prove to be much less slippery than sealed or waxed floors.
  • F) Increased life of truck tires - most industrial floors have curling joints, from where the concrete bows upward on the edges during concrete curing. After the application of grinding & polishing on the affected areas, it will level the curl joints and make the entire surface smooth, helping tires last much longer.
  • G) Polished concrete floors can last as long as the slab exists, with very minimal maintenance and mopping schedule, polished concrete provide savings over short and long term.

FLOOR CARE - CONCRETE

Concrete Densifier & Chemical Hardener.

PRODUCT:

FLOOR - CARE concrete densifier and chemical hardener compound is a proprietary, water-based, ready-to-use, clear silicate liquid, formulated with chemically reactive raw materials to harden and dustproof concrete. This waterborne solution, when properly applied, offers substantial improvement in abrasion and chemical resistance and will significantly improve the durability of the concrete surface when compared to untreated concrete. As FLOOR-CARE is applied and penetrates into the concrete surface, a chemical reaction takes place, producing a byproduct that fills in the pores of the concrete. This process produces a substantially denser concrete surface with enhanced durability. In addition to the densifying and hardening action, FLOOR-CARE also solidifies the concrete, eliminating dusting and pitting.

What is a concrete densifier, and what is the best concrete densifier? According to the Internet, “A concrete densifier is a chemical applied to a concrete surface in order to fill pores, increasing surface density. Chemical densifiers are used on polished and non polished slabs to reduce dusting and wear; on polished concrete surface densifiers help concrete take a better polish and make the surface less permeable to liquids so the slab does not require sealing.”

By applying a concrete densifier you are permanently closing the pores in the concrete thus in fact hardening the concrete and making it stronger. There are a few types of concrete densifiers on the market today. The oldest and most popular being silicate based densifiers. They can include sodium silicates, potassium silicates, lithium silicates or a combination. Silicate densifiers are chemically reactive sealers that penetrate and react with calcium silicate hydrate or C-S-H. C-S-H is the same material that is produced in the reaction between Portland cement and water giving concrete much of its original strength. When a densifier is applied to the surface of concrete the silicate begins to immediately react with the calcium hydroxide.

Not only does densifying begin but the once empty pores of the concrete are filled creating a tougher, stronger concrete slab. But beware silicate sealers are known to leave a white residue called carbonation on the surface (When silicate left on the surface that did not penetrate reacts with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.) This is often times difficult to remove. A newer technology on the market is a colloidal silica densifier. It is claimed that colloidal silicas are the silicates of the future since they have a low viscosity, penetrate deep and also react with lime found in concrete. Since colloidal silicas have the ability to bond to itself (silicate sealers cannot do this) it can densify stronger and has the ability to bond to cement products not made from regular Portland cement. It is claimed colloidal silica is safer to use than traditional silicates and since there are small amount of metallic salts compared to silicates, there will never be whiting left on the surface. Application is quicker (the slab is dry in 1-2 hours vs. 6-24 hours.) But which densifier is the best choice?

CGM Infra View : Best Concrete Densifiers:

When it comes to silicate sealers we feel the best densifier and hardeners are lithium based. Since lithium silicates will react with calcium hydroxide present in concrete to produce the same molecule that concrete naturally forms to hold itself together (C-S-H) we feel this is the strongest, most durable densifier. They have a faster dry time than sodium silicate densifiers and they are a cost effective solution to harden concrete. We like the concentrated Lithium .
